Images I am placing keep moving around. I have tried in front of text, behind etc nothing works although I have done this lots of times before. What has changed?
My picture keeps moving to another part of the document. How do I anchor it so that it will not move unless I move it?
In Microsoft Word, you can anchor an image to a block of text so that when the text is moved, the image moves with it. These instructions work for Word 2007 and Word 2010.
To anchor clip art to a paragraph, follow these steps:
Now you can move the block of text anywhere in your document and the clipart will move with it.
If you delete text and an image somewhere else in the document gets deleted too, then the image anchor is misplaced. You can find where the anchor is located by pressing CTRL+* to view the formatting marks.
Look in the left margin for an anchor icon. It should be next to the paragraph in which you want the clip art anchored. If the image is anchored to the wrong paragraph, click and drag the anchor to the correct paragraph.
Once the anchor is moved to the correct location, lock it by following these steps:
To unlock an image so you can relocate it, follow the steps but deselect Lock Anchor and Move Object with Text, then click OK.
