Getting Word to Recognize Double Word as One in Grammar Checker

by Anonymous

I am writing a story that contains the name "Dee Dee".

Every time I run the spell/grammar check it brings the second "Dee" up as a repeated word . . . so every time I run it I have to hit ignore 50 times to get through the doc.

I tried adding Dee Dee to my dictionary but it didn't seem to help. Any ideas (beyond renaming the character-which believe me I have thought of)? Thanks!

Stop Spell Check from Flagging Repeated Words
by: Word-Tips

This is an easy fix! Much easier than changing the name of your character.

Follow these steps in Word 2007 to stop spell check from choking on the character name:

1. Click the Office button, then click Word Options.

2. On the Proofing tab, find the section, When correcting spelling in Microsoft Office programs.

3. Deselect Flag repeated words.

4. Click OK.

Just keep in mind that changing the setting in Word also changes it in all of your Office programs!

Thank you
