Page numbering - repeating page numbers

by Rasiel Suarez
(Olympia, WA)

I am writing a book in Word 2007. The page numbering goes well for long runs then suddenly "goes whack" and will start getting errors with either repeating the previous page number or a number well out of range.

I believe the problem is related to the section breaks I've manually inserted to accommodate multiple columns in certain places. Sometimes the numbering doesn't get messed up. Sometimes.

How do I force the document to place the correct page number without me having to take out the section breaks (if that is in fact what is tripping them up)?

Where is the answer to this?

section breaks

Make sure the page numbering continues from the same section. You can restart page numbering with each section.
