Using Auto Correct

by Anonymous

In older versions of Microsoft Word, I could access auto correct by going to the tools menu on a document and enter my own shortcut word or abbreviation that would spell out a full word or paragraph automatically.

I can't figure out how to do that with Word 2007.

ANSWER:

AutoCorrect still exists in Word 2007, but it doesn't show on the ribbon. To access it, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Office Button.
  2. Click Word Options.
  3. On the Proofing tab, click the AutoCorrect Options button.

Tip: If you use this tool a lot, make it easier to access by adding the AutoCorrect Options button to the Quick Access Toolbar.

Another way to automate your work is by using Building Blocks, which are new in Word 2007.
