Word 2007 Font View on Page

by Robin
(BIAP, Iraq)

I have my font set to the Arial 12 default, but my page is showing it much larger.

How do I set my page view to the true Arial 12 view? Not the large print it is showing.

ANSWER:

If your fonts are styled correctly but look unusually large on screen, the first thing to check is the Word 2007 Zoom setting. To change Zoom, do the following:
  1. In the ribbon on the View tab, find the Zoom group.
    Word 2007 Zoom group
  2. Click 100% to return your document to normal size.

Or for faster access, there is a Zoom slider located on the status bar (lower right-hand corner of the Word 2007 window).

If that does not correct your problem, then you may need to change your Windows display settings in the Control Panel.

The first display setting to check is the font size. You can do that by following these steps:
  1. In Windows, open Control Panel.
  2. Select the Appearance tab.
Select font size in the Windows Display Properties window
  3. Change Font size to Normal.
  4. Click OK.

If your Font size was already set to Normal, then the problem may be with your display resolution. If it is set too low, everything will look too big including fonts and icons.
  1. In Windows, open Control Panel.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Adjust the Screen resolution using the slider.
  4. Click OK. Your screen will go black for a second or two, then it will appear with the new setting.
  5. If the setting looks good to you, click Yes. If you don't like the display setting, click No.
  6. Repeat until you get a display setting that you like.
