Save Microsoft WordArt as a Reusable Image

January 4, 2011 by Sue Huckle

Did you know you can save Microsoft WordArt so you can use it on your website or in other documents?

Follow these steps to save WordArt as a reusable image:

  1. Press Ctrl+N to create a new blank Microsoft Word document.
  2. Create your WordArt as desired. (Or copy the WordArt from another file.)
  3. Click the Office button in Word 2007, or File tab in Word 2010, then select Save As > Other Formats.
  4. Under Save As Type, select Web Page (*.htm, *.html). Enter a filename and select Desktop as the location.
  5. Click Save.

Now go to your desktop where you can find the web page file with its matching file folder. Open the folder to find your WordArt image.

The image is saved as a .png file that can be uploaded to your website. However, I recommend that you change the filename to something more appropriate before inserting it into your web page.
